Academician Jizhou Ren and many other prestigious professors in the area of grassland science studied under the instruction of Prof. Wang at NAU.
The College of Agro-Grassland Science at NAU was recently founded in Oct. 2012 on the basis of the “Provincial Key Discipline – Grass Science”. The college research studies mainly focus on the following areas: forage and turfgrass physiology, biochemistry and molecular biology; forage and turfgrass germplasm evaluation, genetics and breeding; grassland ecology, environmental protection; forage production and utilization; and pastureland sustainable utilization.
The discipline of Grass Science at NAU ranks among Jiangsu Province’s 1st-level key disciplines, offering bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in Grass Science and post-doctoral training programs. The college now has over 100 undergraduates and about 40 MSc or PhD students. .
In recent years, the college has invited world-renowned scholars, such as Prof. Bingru Huang from Rutgers University to join the college and has formed a highly competitive faculty team.
